Each of our blades and sheaths are hand built unlike many of our competitors which mass produce their products. The mass produced sheaths are necessairly built with some "play" in the sheath and retention strap that will allow many knives to fit, but none to fit very well. A mass produced blade is generally well made, but lacks the care and uniqueness of our hand built process.
When you buy a blade and sheath from us you are buying a hand built matched pair and your sheath will fit the blade knife perfectly!
It is our mission to maintain a spotless reputation. If you are unsatisfied in any way with your COCAJO purchase simply return the item undamaged and we will gladly refund your entire purchase price.
Every knife we build is of our own design, beginning with a mechanical drawing and then progressing to a fiber board pattern to determine if it really works in the hand. We are searching for the correct belly of the blade and it's relationship to the angle of the grip as well as the perfect balance point. You might recognize the pattern to the right as our home page knife.

We began our business by building unique sheaths, a piece of antler inlaid to commemorate a boy's first deer, a duck band inlaid for a 75th birthday and even a sheath made from part of a grandfather's saddle. Use your imagination or allow us to use ours and we will come up with something to be proud of around the lodge.
One of the first requirements of a knife shop is the ability to heat treat steel. We not only enjoy a coal forge and the smoke that goes along with it, but also a computerized oversized kiln that allows us to complete complicated heating cycles needed for more exotic steels like Damascus and stainless.
